The Crossroads Marketplace transformed a former dining commons into a contemporary food service and convenience retail operation. The images of freshness, flexibility, and service are the concepts behind this active mix of mercantile and food services in an attractive, non-institutional setting. Serving the campus community, the Marketplace features a bagel franchise, carryout dining operation, and convenience store.
The scope of the project design emphasizes durable yet eye-appealing materials set against colorful backdrops. Custom mobile display units throughout the facility provide opportunity for flexible product promotions and also serve as spatial dividers. The Marketplace currently occupies approximately 6,000 of a 22,000 square-foot main floor and is expected to expand as new student housing is constructed. |
